St. Marcellinus Catholic Church

God has blessed you with a boy/girl! And now you are presenting that child to be baptized in the Catholic Church. We, who share your faith, are happy with you. Through Baptism we all become disciples, parts of the same Body of Christ. English baptisms are celebrated on the fourth Saturday of the month. Spanish baptisms are generally celebrated on the first and the third Saturday of the month. Please visit the rectory for more information.

The Sacred Eucharist is the most important of all sacraments because, in this, and no other one of the sacraments, we receive Jesus Christ’s body, blood, soul, and divinity. Uncountable graces come to us with the reception of the Holy Communion.
The preparation for First Communion and Reconciliation is a 2 year process. Generally children begin in the first grade. Although, we have first year classes which begin in other grades. If you have a boy or a girl who is ready for first communion, or if you would like to begin the process to receive first communion, please contact or visit the rectory for more information.

Confirmation is a sacrament where the Holy Spirit is given to the already baptized to make him/her a strong and perfect Christian; and a soldier of Jesus Christ. At the Los Angeles Archdiocese, confirmation happens close to the 15 years of age, the preparation is a 2 year program. If your boy or girl is ready for confirmation, or if you have not been confirmed and would like to be confirmed, please David Vasquez at 323 440-3010

Jesus blessed the couple in Cana with his presence, elevating matrimony to be a sacrament. He will also bless you and your husband/wife for your whole life through a Catholic matrimony. We would like to help you during your engagement and matrimony, also, if you are currently married and would like to get married in the Catholic Church, please contact or visit the rectory for more information.

Anointing of the Sick

Just like everyone of us have a body with many members; and not all members have the same function, even though we too are many, we are one body in Christ and individual members of each other (Rom 12;4-5).
If you or a dear one is sick or near death, and would like to receive special sacramental prayers, communion and the anointing, please contact us so we can visit you or the member of your family. Be assured that our prayers are with you during this time.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

As an adult you are welcome and invited to the community of the Catholic Faith. You can receive the sacraments of Baptism, Communion, and Confirmation, through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). Our program includes Catholic classes and formation here at St. Marcellinus. Please contact David Vasquez 323 440-3010 for more information.
